I traveled a bit yesterday, within Poland where I'm visiting my parents. We took a fabulous trip to a dinousaur-themed adventure park, a treat for my 3-year old. When he was naping in the car it was time for some more grown-up interests and a visit to a porcelain (fine china) manufacture in Cmielow. It's a manufacture because all production stages are done by hand, something right down our Etsy alley! The factory has recently revived avant-garde designs from 1950s. The Mammoth and many other animal and human figurines seen here are prime examples. Wondering about prices? The Mammoth, the height of about 4in, is 480 Polish zloty, or about $137.
A feast to those who collect figurines by theme. I've found, besides the obvious dogs and cats, wild cats, monkeys, African animals, and many more!My next post will cover what I've learned about the production process during my tour of the factory, very interesting porcelain facts and trivia! Beautiful work! I looked at the website as well. I especially love all the animal figurines. A lot of them have an art deco feel. I am very fond of cats so they were my favorite. :) Thanks for sharing.
